University Presbyterian Church offers a variety of opportunities for growth and fellowship for university students. All church luncheons are complimentary for students, and seating is reserved for the university student group to gather.
Coming soon!
The Rev. Stuart Buisch of Campus Church ConneXion offers Bible study and a light meal in the Fellowship Room, usually twice a month. Call the church office for the next date.
Looking for volunteer opportunities? University students may volunteer in the food pantry located in the church. (Current volunteer hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Looking for a quiet place of prayer and spiritual centering? The First Friday Taizé Service (meditative songs, prayers, candles, and scripture readings) provides just that on the first Friday of each month from 5:30 to 6:00 PM.
The university student group also has fun outside of church! Fellowship events in the past have included movie nights, state park outings, ice skating, visiting different churches, and meeting for dinner.
One component of University Church's ministry with university and college students is an intentional Christian living experience for students in a house right next to the church. Called the "Manse Program" because it uses what was long ago the pastor's house (the "manse"), this program houses up to four university students who live in community and seek to grow together in their Christian faith. Residents of the program, both undergraduate as well as graduate students, volunteer in various community service projects and participate in the worship and ministries of our congregation.
Students who are interested in being part of the Manse Program should contact the church office for further information about the application process.
We welcome new faces and new ideas for fellowship. Please drop by for a visit on Sunday and check us out, or call the church office!
Co-Chairs of our Ministry to University Students Committee are Kathryn Hallborg and Lee Ann Grace.
