Sanctuary Open For Personal Prayer: Prayer is an essential way we manage the “unmanageable” tragedies of life. In response to the grief and suffering our Buffalo community is experiencing, University Presbyterian Church will open the sanctuary during the week for those seeking a quiet place for personal prayer. The front doors of the sanctuary will be open and a church member will greet visitors during the following days and times: Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
A Concert for a Cause - University Presbyterian Church Sunday, April 24, at 3:00 p.m. The Buffalo State Jazz Chamber Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Mark Filsinger, will be featured in our second Concert for a Cause and our final event celebrating University Church's 100th Anniversary. There is no charge for the concert but a free will offering will be collected. Proceeds from the free will offering will benefit Frontera de Cristo, the Presbyterian Border Outreach program in Douglas, Arizona, and Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, where Lee Ann Grace and Howard Henry have volunteered for 30+ years. Funds from our Concert for a Cause will be used to make essential repairs to the Migrant Resource Center which served more than 6,000 people during the five weeks Howard and Lee Ann were there this past January and February. The Buffalo State Jazz Chamber Ensemble consists of five instrumentalists (trumpet, saxophone, guitar, bass, and drums) who will be joined by a vocalist for several numbers. The Resurrected Jesus told Peter, “Feed my sheep. Tend my sheep.” Come enjoy superb music and help Frontera de Cristo fulfill Christ’s call to extend God’s love and care to our vulnerable brothers and sisters. You may also make donations dedicated to Frontera de Cristo on our Giving Page.
